Be the hero of a CNRE story

For Brent Keefer ’87, M.S. ’88, CEO of American Forest Management, Inc., arriving at Virginia Tech as an undergraduate was an experience that introduced him to the academic opportunities that changed his life. After carving out a 30-year career in the forest industry, Keefer is now giving back to the college and the university. As CNRE’s second visiting executive, Keefer delivered a keynote address on economic shifts in natural resources and shared lessons in leadership and business with students. Along with his wife Charlotte, Keefer also supports high-achieving students like meteorology major Hunter Manley through the Beyond Boundaries Scholarship program.

CNRE supporters all have a unique story to tell about how they got involved with the college. But you’ll also find that they have one thing in common: a passion for supporting what’s closest to their hearts. If you want to learn more about the college and have a great idea for making an impact, let us know. We’re always looking for heroes.
