Undergraduate Student

David Urbaez

Major: Construction Engineering and Management

Expected Graduation Date: May 2019

  • Minors: Green Engineering + Economics

My name is David Urbaez. I am a sophomore majoring in Construction Engineering and Management with minors in Green Engineering and Economics. Outside of class, I am the Director of Fundraising and Membership for Bridges to Prosperity, a mentor and Service Learning Committee member for Galipatia LLC, and Student Assistant Manager at Owens Food Court.

Right after I graduate, I want to work in the construction industry as a project engineer with a general contractor, primarily on large-scale commercial projects. Over time, I would hope to move up to project manager, project executive, and/or start my own company. While going down this path, I intend to become a licensed Professional Engineer and obtain LEED AP accreditation to enhance my ability to help create impressive, lasting, and sustainable buildings. I find inspiration from sustainability initiatives for many of the academic and career choices I made or plan to make.
