Undergraduate Student

Jillian Parrinello

Major: Civil Engineering with concentration in Environmental Engineering

Expected Graduation Date: May 2017

  • Minor: Green Engineering

My name is Jillian Parrinello, and I am a Civil Engineering major at Virginia Tech. Within the broad field of Civil Engineering I declared a concentration in Environmental Engineering, which led me to my minor in Green Engineering. I am grateful for my involvement in Engineers without Borders because it opened my eyes to opportunities that used my engineering skills to change the lives of others. I was fortunate enough to spend last summer interning with a non-profit called KaTO Design Inc., where a team of students and I designed and built a school for an underprivileged community in Costa Rica. Anyone who meets me quickly recognizes my passion for the environment, partly because my mind is constantly flooded with thoughts of ocean plastic, global warming, and air pollution. My dream job is one that focuses on reducing human impacts on our planet because the future depends on it. That being said, I believe my life goal is to save mankind from itself.
