Undergraduate Student

Lacey Lumpkin

Major: Geography with concentration in Geospatial and Environmental Analysis

Expected Graduation Date: May 2016

  • Minor: Watershed Management

My name is Malayshia Lumpkin; I prefer to be called Lacey. I am a senior majoring in Geography, and I also have a minor in Watershed Management. While here at Virginia Tech, I have been a part of the University Honors program, the College of Natural Resources and Environment Ambassadors, undergraduate research with the Department of Geography, and other organizations. My interests in sustainability lie in the topics of water resources, urban affairs, GIS, and food systems. I would love a job that would allow me to merge my interests in social issues and the environment. I want a job where I can enhance communities with greenspaces and smart growth principles to improve health, the local economy, and overall livelihood.  I would definitely want a portion of my job to include doing work in the field. I am looking forward to finding an employer whose mission aligns with my passions and whose work involves innovative solutions in the field.
