Undergraduate Student

Joe Famularo

Major: Water: Resources, Policy, and Management

Expected Graduation Date: May 2017

My name is Joe Famularo, and I’m from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Growing up in the Tidewater area has had a profound impact on the direction I have taken my life, it starts and ends with water. I have always been surrounded by it and inevitably affected by its quality and quantity. The experiences associated with these bodies of water are engrained in my memory and motivate me to this day to ensure that they can be enjoyed by future generations. This desire has driven me to enroll in the new Water; Resources, Policy, and Management major at Virginia Tech. My goal this summer was to acquire practicable skills in which I can use in the field, lab, or classroom. I achieved this as an Intern on Wagon Wheel Farm but naturally I wish to continue to develop myself as a young professional. This is why I applied to the Sustainability Institute and I am very excited and honored to be here.
