Undergraduate Student

Stephanie Betzel

Major: Wood Science and Forest Products

  • Option: Packaging Science

“Developing entrepreneurial capacity and team-building skills will help me toward my lifelong passion of reducing environmental impacts in a business environment.”

I am from a rural town in Northern Virginia, and I transferred from New River Community College to Virginia Tech. I am in the process of working on my wood science and forest products major with a concentration in packaging science.

I recently joined the Virginia Tech Chapter of the Institute of Packaging Professionals, and I am very excited about some of the events we have planned for this year. One of the things I have always been passionate about is reducing society’s impact on the environment. Learning about sustainability in packaging science is very important to me, and I consider myself fortunate to be able to be part of such a great department at Virginia Tech.
