If you enjoy meeting people and telling them about your major, the College, Virginia Tech, and the experiences you’ve had, you may be just the person to serve as a College of Natural Resources and Environment ambassador. CNRE Ambassadors work closely with The Advising Center to serve as guides and recruiters for prospective students and their parents, represent the College at university-sponsored events such as Open Houses, act as hosts at alumni receptions and events, and help teach several Natural Resources First Year Experience labs.
Open to all CNRE students in any major, and freshman are strongly encouraged to apply. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. To remain in good standing, Ambassadors are expected to participate in the majority of the following recruitment activities (activities marked with an * are mandatory):
It is strongly encouraged that you attend an information session before submitting your application to learn more about the program, requirements, expectations, and get the chance to chat with current ambassadors and ask questions. Priority consideration will be given to those who attend one of the information sessions.
Information sessions will be held on the following dates/times:
All applicants will be brought in for a brief 15-minute interview, which will occur throughout the day during the week of February 6th - 10th. After you complete this application, you will receive a confirmation email from us that will include a link to sign-up for an interview slot.
All Ambassadors selected MUST attend the mandatory training session on Saturday, February 18th, 2017 from 10:00am - 3:00pm. If you are unable to attend, unfortunately you will not be able to serve as an Ambassador this semester. Please consider this before applying, and if you are available, mark your calendar now.
