The 4-H American Chestnut Project

Overview:

Students plant seed nuts and record survival of blight resistant chestnut seedlings at their school. A special educational program is offered to schools who can help with the annual seed harvest at Mountain Lake, VA. Long-term data on seedling survival and forest community changes at Mountain Lake is available for classroom use.
