Franklin Myers (’81), E. Glen Worrell (’92, ’96), and Professor Emeritus David Wm. Smith join Virginia Board of Forestry


Aug. 15, 2017 – Alumni Franklin Myers (’81 B.S. forestry and wildlife) and E. Glen Worrell (’92 B.S., ’96 M.S. forestry), as well as retired forestry professor David Wm. Smith, have been appointed by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe to the commonwealth’s Board of Forestry.

Myers, of Gasburg, Virginia, is vice president of the logging company M.M. Wright Inc. Worrell, of Staunton, is regional manager of F&W Forestry Services, which is headquartered in Albany, Georgia. Smith, of Blacksburg, the Honorable and Mrs. Shelton H. Short Jr. Professor Emeritus of Forestry, taught and served in several administrative roles in the college during his 37 years at Virginia Tech.
