Feb. 15, 2015 – Steve Moyer (’84 M.S. in fisheries and wildlife sciences), Trout Unlimited’s vice president for government affairs, was elected to the National Fresh Water Fishing 2014’s Hall of Fame. Moyer has spent his career working to protect and restore America’s trout and salmon habitat from Capitol Hill.

Moyer joined Trout Unlimited in 1992 and has been instrumental in efforts to improve fish habitat and fishing across the country ever since. His accomplishments range from protecting large western landscapes to removing dams that blocked salmon migrations, to incorporating strong conservation language in legislation.

“I’m honored and humbled to receive this award, and I am extremely grateful to the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame for it,” Moyer said. “All that I have accomplished would not have been possible without the splendid relationships I have enjoyed with Trout Unlimited volunteers and staff, members of Congress and their staffs, conservation organization friends, and state and federal agency partners. I am very fortunate to have had such a good run, but let’s all remember there is a lot of work left to be done.”
