Feb. 15, 2015 – Linda Dawn Joyner passed away on Sept. 5, 2014, at the age of 60 after a long battle with cancer.

She remained in Blacksburg and worked on campus for over 32 years at positions in the Department of Forestry, Nuclear Reactor Lab, Cooperative Extension, Parking Services, and Office of Transportation.

She volunteered with the YMCA, local nature conservation projects, and the Paratransit Advisory Subcommittee and won a 2003 contest to rename Blacksburg’s Paratransit service to BT-ACCESS.

“She was a brilliant student and was capable of doing about anything she set her mind to,” recalled Professor Emeritus David Wm. Smith.
