Nov. 15, 2014 – Barry Fulcher (’87 B.S. forestry) has been elected vice president of the Lester Development Corporation of Martinsville, Virginia. He will use his 26 years of experience in forestry to continue managing, harvesting, and reforesting more than 18,000 acres of timberland owned by the company in Virginia and North Carolina.

“We have developed a sustainability program that allows the company to cut the same amount of timber each year and never deplete the supply because of our reforestation program,” said Fulcher, who has been with the company for 19 years.

As vice president, he will oversee Lester Development’s project management, governmental compliance with environmental regulations, wetlands and brownfields compliance, engineering, site development, and land planning.

Fulcher and his wife, Cindy, have two children. They are active in the Bassett, Virginia, community and are leaders at Fort Trial Baptist Church.
