Schedule of Activities

• September/October- Harvest seed nuts at Mountain Lake (special educational program available for school groups- contact Charles Lytton, Extension Agent, 4-H Giles County, clytton@vt.edu)
  
  
• January- Seed nuts shipped to schools (contact Lucille Griffin, American Chestnut Cooperators’ Foundation (ACCF) gagriffi@vt.edu.
  
  
• February- Plant seeds indoors. Monitor germination percentage. (See ACCF web site for instructions.)
  
  
• March/April- Continue monitoring seedling growth.
  
  
• May/June- In field replanting and establishing new orchards. (See ACCF web site for instructions)
  
  
• September- measure seedlings and report data to VT. (Seedling survival report form)
  
  
• Anytime- See long-term data on seedling survival and community changes and answer SOL-related questions.
