Field Tours and Retreats

The oldest program of its type in Virginia, the Fall Forestry & Wildlife Field Tours give participants the opportunity to observe forestry and wildlife management practices being implemented on the ground.

Our Landowner Retreat allows participants to immerse themselves in forestry - in the field and in the classroom - for the weekend. April 27-29, 2012.

Fall Forestry & Wildlife Field Tours:

  • have been offered 35 consecutive years;
  • will be held again in October 2012;
  • involve landowners, state, federal, and forest industry natural resource professionals and representatives of environmental non-governmental agencies;
  • inform participants about practical forest and wildlife management techniques which are currently being used in their area;
  • share information on current cost-share programs; and
  • are a great opportunity for networking with other landowners and natural resource professionals.
