Emily Hutchins

Chief Advancement Officer

Emily Hutchins joined the College of Natural Resources and Environment in February 2014 as director of development. She provides strategic leadership to help the college meet its goal in securing resources to support students and faculty, and to enhance its programs for teaching, research, and outreach. She works closely with individual donors and companies to align their philanthropic interests with the college's top priorities to create a lasting impact.

Emily came to Virginia Tech from the Denver Zoo, where she worked in a philanthropic role raising long-term support through major gifts. She previously served as managing director of the Mountain Lake Conservancy in Pembroke, Virginia.

Emily is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington and recently completed her master’s in nonprofit management from Regis University.
