Delton Alderman

Delton joined the USDA Forest Service - Research & Development branch in Princeton, WV, as a research scientist in August 2001. His research includes U.S. and international housing markets, marketing for hardwood producers, hardwood quality, technology transfer, and competitiveness of the U.S. forest industries. Delton is a founding member of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Forest Industries Center at Virginia Tech. 

He received a B.S. in forestry and wildlife industrial forestry operations in 1982 and after spending 14-years in the industry, he returned to VT earning a M.S. (‘98) and Ph.D. (2001) in wood science and forest products specializing in the forest products marketing option. He is a registered forester and belongs to both the Forest Products Society and American Marketing Association. Delton resides in Pearisburg, Va. He enjoys traveling, and the Blacksburg Christian Fellowship.
