April is the Technology Coordinator for Campbell County Utilities & Service Authority (CCUSA) in central Virginia, where she is responsible for GIS and IT operations. She has worked for CCUSA for the last six years and considers it to be one of the most enjoyable and gratifying places she has ever worked because of the wonderful, supportive team atmosphere and projects that contribute to the economic growth of the region.

April received her bachelor's degree in geography, with a minor in geological sciences from Virginia Tech in 2003 and her master’s degree in business administration from Averett University in 2007. She obtained her GIS Professional Certification (GISP) in 2010 and her Leadership Lynchburg graduation certificate in 2011. Her GIS/Geography experience includes Data Collection & Data Creation projects, GIS implementation, Aerial photography/City-wide data coverage contract management, and GIS systems management. 

April is an active member in several professional organizations including the VA Chapter of AWWA. She and her husband, Joshua Farmer, reside in Campbell County Virginia and enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and continuing to be an avid Hokie fans.
