About VFLEP's Short Courses

  • an award-winning series of classroom and web-based courses for forest landowners and other interested in the sustainable management of Virginia's forest and wildlife resources;
  • all courses in the series emphasize the benefits of professional assistance, management planning, water quality and soil protection, wildlife habitat protection, and sustainable forestry practices;
  • landowners learn practical forestry and wildlife management principles and techniques that can be applied to their woodlands;
  • most classes include an in-woods, hands-on field component;
  • short courses are sponsored and taught by local professionals from numerous natural resource agencies;
